PNFA stands for Popular Nightmare Folk Art. It is an electronic project based on the work of Wolfram Gruß, located in Aschaffenburg, a town near Frankfurt in Germany. The project itself exists since 1995 and has gone a long way through different styles, such as trance, industrial, drum & bass, trip hop and completely experimental stuff without any rhythmic beats. PNFA tries to present a style that follows the thin red line between music that can be easily heard at home and music that contains so much pressure, that you can only catch its spirit on the dancefloor. Wolfram Gruß was born in 1980 and started to "remix" music recorded with a tape deck from the radio at the age of 9. Within the years, he put nearly all his money in hardware equipment, which lead to his own studio, called the "Giftzwergwerk", where most of the tracks are recorded, sometimes alone and sometimes with other musicians. Here also the whole organisation takes place, such as designing CD- covers and live event organisations. Since you cannot earn much money producing independent music, Wolfram also works as a profesional photographer. The following albums have been released: Somewhere Save (Trance), 1995 The Urban Music Box (Breakbeat/Industrial), 1997 Popular Nightmare Folk Art (Drum 'n Bass), 1999 Le Temps Perdu (Downbeat), 2002 Blaustich (Drum 'n Bass), 2002 Meter Fusion(Down Beat/Drum 'n Bass), 2003
