Biography

Born and raised in a small town called Oss, Maetrana AKA Maikel Hengstler, started his musical journey when he was 12, discovering Electronic music through radio and tv. It was at this moment that he knew he wanted to be part of 'The Scene'.

He first became interested in the electronic music scene in 1999. In 2001, aged 14, his Mum and Dad bought him his first keyboard and music production software. At the age of 19, he began producing more and more and with higher standards. In 2008, he achieved his first acknowledgement when he won a competition at dance-industries.com, which Maetrana described as one of the greatest days of his life.

His first internet release under guise of Maetrana, 'Discover Your Destiny' was in 2008. Though this track wasn't downloaded as many as he probably would have liked, Maetrana is a fighter and since 2008 has been locked in the studio perfecting his craft.

Suffice to say, the trance & house scene should be expecting big things from Maetrana in 2009 and following years.
