Biography

Dark Matter is a solo project of Leonid Volkov, Russian producer of Chill-out/Lounge music and TV/Film music. The project was launched nearly 9 years ago in Novosibirsk city (Siberia), the coldest region of the Russian Federation. This city known in Russia as source of new and original talents for Russian pop, rock and alternative music scene.



Nine years ago Dark Matter debuted on first FM-stereo station "Ermatel", which was a product of cooperation between Russian and German companies. During the first life radio show, the music of Dark Matter (mostly electronica during these years) received huge positive feedback. Dark Matter had a number of live scenic performances in Novosibirsk, Moscow and Saint-Petersburg.



Among his achievements A lengthy interview was published on Belgium site Dance-Industries.



Fans characterize the music of Dark Matter as a blend of modern rhythms, outstanding melodies, ethereal pads and sequences, mixed with special attention to sound quality. The music of Dark Matter is music for thinking people, and at the same time – music for positive mood.
