Biography

Name: Christian Laute

DJ Name: Jibe

Born: 26th May 72

Home base: Berlin

Nationality: German

end of the 80th his love for music drove Jibe to decision that he didnt just want to consume music, so he got 2 turntables and a mixer.

He quickly recognised that a new musical spectrum got opened and inspired by Hip Hop and Rap music he went on to give more dynamics and moods to his music by mixing it together and arranging it to a new whole.

In the beginning of the 90th a radical change in the club and music scene in his hometown Berlin happened. Jibe discovered the wide field of Techno music.

His musical feeling got mainly influenced by legendary clubs like the Tresor Club, the Planet and later on the E-Werk.

After riding a long time on hard abstract technical beats of Techno he surely got into pumping deephouse. He took a new musical style into his sets and kept on improving his skills.

After several short time stays in London which were always dominated by excessive record shopping and the fascination of the English music and club scene Jibe decided to go to UK for 2 years.

In 1997/1998 he discovered his musical roots in a new style- Drum and Bass.

The fusion of breaky Hip Hop beats, hypnotic hard elements of Techno and the grooving melodically elements of house music combined with the mix other musical styles were the reason why he got hooked on Drum and bass.

The possibility of arranging different kinds of styles gave him a new platform to perform and realize his musical influences.

Nowadays Jibe guarantees with his sets always a grooving and alternating mix of hard and sometimes softer beats, which surely keeps the crowd moving.
